Vehicle Resources

The diversity of vehicles used today demands that training include a variety of training vehicles including rear-wheel drive sedans, high center-of-gravity SUVs, two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, both automatic and standard transmissions. O'Gara currently fields 33 specially prepared training vehicles and a disposable fleet of 25-30 cars.

The police-package Ford Crown Victoria serves as our standard training sedan. There are currently fourteen (14) Crown Victoria's in the fleet. All are automatic and equipped with an ABS switch to disengage the ABS braking circuit.

O'Gara has nineteen (19) sport utility vehicles (SUV) in the training fleet. There are eight (8) modern (2002-current year) Chevrolet Tahoe's that are designated for road course and motorcade use.

O'Gara has eight (8) prior model (1999) Tahoe's that are specifically prepared for undeveloped road and off-road training. These vehicles are more extensively modified to best withstand the hard use off-road and each is equipped with a full complement of tools necessary for off-road (winch, hi-lift jack, snatch blocks, chains, straps, gloves, shovels, etc.).

A second off-road fleet, five (5) Nissan Xterra's (each equipped as the Tahoe's above), are used to instruct on tarmac, undeveloped and off-road courses using a 5-speed standard transmission, employing both 2-wheel-drive (2WD) and 4 wheel-drive (4WD).
